Custom tools and AI
When the off-the-shelf product does not fit, and staff time is paying the difference.
Non-profits are usually pushed into software designed for businesses, then pay for it twice: once in licence fees, and again in the hours staff spend working around it.
Sound familiar?
- Intake, case notes or programme data are captured on paper and typed up later.
- Monitoring and evaluation data lives in a spreadsheet only one person understands.
- The same questions arrive every day and someone answers them by hand.
- Your systems do not talk to each other, so figures never quite agree.

Questions people ask
Is custom software not expensive?
It used to be. Building small, well-scoped tools is now fast enough that it often costs less than years of licence fees and manual hours.
What happens if you disappear?
You own the code and the accounts, and I document everything in plain language. That is deliberate.
Do we need AI for this?
Often not. I use it where it genuinely helps, like answering repetitive questions, and plain software everywhere else.

Donor and volunteer systems
Most organisations lose supporters to silence, not to a competitor.
