Training your team
The point of all of it is that you stop needing me.
Teaching people to run their own digital work is where I started, at Digify Africa and on programmes with the British Council and Red Bull Amaphiko. I still think it is the most valuable thing on this list.
Who it is for
Teams who inherited systems nobody explained, or who want the skills in-house.
Ask about thisSound familiar?
- One person holds all the passwords and all the knowledge, and they are leaving.
- You pay an agency for changes your own team could make in ten minutes.
- Staff avoid the tools because nobody showed them properly.
- Every handover loses something, so you start again every few years.
What you get
What is actually included
Hands-on sessions
Practical training on your own accounts and your own content, not a generic slide deck.
Plain-language documentation
Written so somebody who joins in two years can follow it.
Digital skills for your people
Where useful, training for the young people or communities you serve, which is the work I have done longest.
A support line
Time each month for the questions that come up once your team is actually using it.
How it works
Find the gaps
What your team can already do, and what only one person can.
Teach on the real thing
Sessions on your actual accounts, solving your actual problems.
Write it down
Documentation your team helps produce, so it makes sense to them.
Stay reachable
Support while it beds in, then less of me over time.
Questions people ask
Do you train beneficiaries as well as staff?
Yes. Digital-skills training for young people is where I began and I have done a great deal of it, much of it unpaid.
Online or in person?
Both. I have run both formats across southern Africa and in the Philippines.
What if our team is not technical?
Most are not. I have spent years teaching people who had never used a laptop, so this is the normal case rather than the difficult one.

A few lines is plenty. I will come back with what I would do first, in writing, at no charge. If I do not think I can help, I will say so.
