How the work goes
The same six things, in the same order.
The only thing that changes between one client and the next is who you are trying to reach, and what you call the result. Here it is funding.

See how it worksUsually the quickest win
of free Google advertising, through a programme called the Ad Grant. It is not a loan, it does not touch your donor income, and eligible non-profits can simply have it.
Here is what that actually means. Every time somebody in your area searches for the help you provide, a cause like yours to support, or a place to volunteer, your organisation can be the first thing they see. Every day, all year, paid for by Google.
You probably qualify
Registered non-profits in 50+ countries. Schools and government bodies are the main exclusions.
Why most lose it
Google switches it off after two months below a 5% click rate. Nobody tells you until it happens.
I check for free
One day to find out if you qualify, or why the grant you have is dying. No charge, no catch.

One dashboard, always current
Reach, donations, sign-ups and programme numbers in one place. Your team checks it any time, and a funder can be given their own view instead of waiting for a quarterly email.
It replaces the spreadsheet somebody rebuilds by hand the week a report is due.

The report writes itself
When a grant report or a board pack is due, the numbers are already there and every figure traces back to the system that recorded it.

Work behind this
Most of my career has been this work
MTV Staying Alive Foundation
The Foundation runs MTV Shuga, one of the largest mass-media campaigns in the world for HIV and sexual-health behaviour change. It has been independently evaluated by the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine, and a World Bank evaluation reported a substantial return on every dollar put into it.

What I did there
- 01Led the digital strategy for the flagship shows: MTV Shuga in Nigeria and South Africa, and MTV Nishedh in India
- 02Measured campaign impact online
- 03Advised on building USSD services, the phone menus that work with no internet or data
- 04Set how tactics were measured across countries
- 05Built the online forms and capture behind campaigns
- 06Reported results to the funders paying for it

Why I do this
I have spent most of my working life on the digital side of organisations trying to do some good, and the commercial work I do now is partly what funds me to keep doing it.
What keeps me interested is that the gap is so fixable. A small organisation doing patient, difficult work loses out to a bigger one with a communications team, and the difference is almost never the work itself. It is who can be found, and who can show what happened.
So tell me about your project. If I think I can help, we will talk about how. If I do not, I will tell you that instead, and probably point you at whoever can.
Where I work
What your funders expect you to prove, by country
South Africa
New SARS rules on Section 18A donation receipts since March 2026. Clean data off your site makes them painless.
United Kingdom
SORP 2026 now requires charities over £500,000 to explain their impact and show how they measure it.
Europe
Institutional and EU programme funders expect numbers on demand, across years and countries.
Australia
Your ACNC Charity Register profile is public. Funders read it next to your own site.
Rules above are as published by Google, SARS, the Charities SORP-making body and the ACNC, checked August 2026. Confirm anything affecting your filings with your own accountant.
Straight with you
Four things I will not do
You are pitched constantly, usually by people who have never worked in this sector. Here is where I stop.
I will not write your grant applications
You know your funders. I make the application you write land harder.
I am not your auditor or tax adviser
Section 18A, SORP and DGR stay with your accountant and your board.
I will not sell you a rebrand you did not ask for
If the logo is fine and nobody can find you, we fix the finding.
I will not take money you should not spend
If the budget belongs in your programmes, you will hear that on the first call.
How we start
Nothing costs you anything until there is something worth paying for
- 01
Tell me what you do
Thirty minutes, or an email. Whichever you prefer.
No charge
- 02
I check the free money
Whether you qualify for the Ad Grant, or why the one you have is at risk.
No charge
- 03
A short written read
Your site, your tracking, and what a funder sees when they look you up.
No charge
- 04
Then we scope it
Priced per organisation, because budgets differ hugely by country.
Only if it is worth it
Get in touch
Tell me about your project
Not a sales enquiry. Tell me what your organisation does and where it is stuck, and I will come back with what I would look at first.
- I read and answer every one myself
- Your Ad Grant eligibility checked, at no charge
- If I cannot help, I will say so and point you elsewhere
Would rather talk? Book thirty minutes.
